GPT as your personal assistant – a look into the future

0

We are all excited abut chatGPT and all the things we can ask it. We are amazed with the code snippets we get and mesmerised by the short stories, songs and poems it generate. All those funny, exciting and interesting discussions we have with it. But where will we see this technology in the future?

Yes, where will we see this technology? Personally, I believe that we will see this technology in absolutely everything that we interact with. Why? Well, not because it is brilliant at everything but because it is able to understand us and break it down into what we need and that can be applied to so many things.

Most of us have tried to communicate with Siri, Alexa or Cortana and it is always a struggle. Imagine if you could have this conversation with any of those personal assistants instead:

Good morning, I was thinking about going somewhere with my family this afternoon. Preferable where the weather is nice and not too far away, perhaps a two or three hour drive. I’m bringing my family so take that in consideration.

Understood! How about visiting Santa Barbara? It’s about a 2 hour and 30 minute drive from Los Angeles and known for its Mediterranean climate and stunning beaches. Some popular activities for families in Santa Barbara include visiting the Santa Barbara Zoo, exploring the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, and going on a whale watching tour.

For accommodation, I recommend the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara. It’s a luxurious resort with a spa, multiple swimming pools, and a golf course. TripAdvisor gives it a 4.5-star rating and guests have praised its stunning ocean views and family-friendly amenities.

For dinner, you may want to check out The Lark, a farm-to-table restaurant that offers seasonal California cuisine in a relaxed and chic atmosphere. They also have an extensive wine list featuring local Santa Barbara wines.

How does that sound?

Sounds great, do I need to charge my car on the way?

Yes it seems that your car isn’t charged enough to reach the destination! There’s a Tesla Supercharger located in Goleta, which is a 10-minute drive from Santa Barbara. This charging station should provide enough charge for you to continue your journey or explore the city.

For a nearby restaurant, I recommend Tyger Tyger, a modern Thai street food restaurant located in Goleta. They have a 4.5-star rating on Yelp and serve flavorful dishes made with fresh ingredients. It’s a short 5-minute walk from the Tesla Supercharger.

Would you like me to book a reservation for you at Tyger Tyger?

Yes please and book the hotel at my destination as well, we will be staying two nights. While you’re at it book a table for 5 at 7PM at a nice restaurant close to the hotel for tomorrow night.

Certainly, I have booked a 2-night stay for you and your family at the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara. Your check-in is set for 2 PM today.

I have also made a reservation for you at Tyger Tyger for tonight at 7 PM for 5 people.

For tomorrow night’s dinner, I have made a reservation for you at the Babs at the Biltmore, a restaurant located within the Four Seasons Resort. They offer a seasonal menu of coastal California cuisine, and have received excellent reviews for their seafood dishes and creative cocktails.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

Seems futuristic? Too good to be true? Well, this is actually an authentic conversation I just had with chatGPT and it understood my needs, broke it down into parts. The rest is just about integrating with various services. This is what this technology is all about; it’s about communication.

Imagine what this can do for your everyday life and try to think about where this can be integrated. Feel free to comment.
